From May 14 to 16, the State University of Telecommunications hosted a workshop of the International Telecommunication Union for Europe and the CIS "ICT infrastructure as a basis for creating a digital economy."

The seminar was attended by representatives of the International Telecommunication Union, State Regulatory Authorities, Communications Administrations, Ministries of Information Technology and Communications, heads of international IT companies from 10 countries, namely Uzbekistan, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova, Great Britain, Japan , India, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Belgium.

On April 9-10, Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture hosted the First Scientific and Practical Conference "Spirituality as a Component of Ukrainian Statehood", dedicated to the study of the fundamental role of spirituality in the process of building a nation, state, society and personality. The conference was initiated by the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and personally by its director, Professor Anatoliy Ivanovych Shevchenko.

On December 6, 2018, the Exhibition Center "Science" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine hosted an exhibition-presentation of scientific, and scientific and technical developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, timed to the 100th anniversary of the Academy.

On October 18–19, 2018, the XVIII International Scientific and Technical Conference “Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems” (AIIS’2018) took place on the basis of the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The final of the Sikorsky Challenge 2018 Startup Competition took place on October 17-19 at the Center for Innovative Entrepreneurship of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".

Within the event, a competition of startup projects was held, the jury of which was formed of representatives of venture business, business incubators, associations of industrial enterprises. Its main goal is to promote the developments of domestic scientists and innovators, as well as to attract investors to finance the implementation of the latest developments.

The team of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took part in the finals of the Competition.

On May 14-15, 2018, the State University of Telecommunications hosted the Regional Conference of the International Telecommunication Union for Europe and the CIS "Digital Future Based on 4G / 5G", organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union in cooperation with the State Telecommunication Union. University of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

On December 22, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine hosted the final council of vice-rectors for scientific work of Ukrainian universities and directors of research institutes of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems was represented by the director of the institute, Professor Shevchenko.
