VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Artificial Intelligence - 2005. Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems - 2005"

The 6th International Scientific Conference "Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems - Artificial Intelligence - 2005" took place from September 26 to the 1st of October 2005 in the village of Divnomorskoe, Gelendzhik District, Krasnodar Krai (Russia).

The organizing committee of the conference, and scientific and youth schools received more than 400 applications for participation (including the participation in absentia) from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Spain, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, China, Germany, Poland, Canada and the United States. More than 300 reports on the creation of intelligent systems based on modern computer technologies and the fields of their practical usage were submitted.

The conference was held within the joint project of scientists from Ukraine (Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems, Donetsk, rector professor A.I. Shevchenko), Russia (Research Institute of Multiprocessor Computing Systems, Taganrog, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences I.A. Kalyaev) and Belarus (Belarusian National University, professor I.V. Sovpel). The participation of the scientific society of the Republic of Belarus, undoubtedly, gave impetus to the activity of the conference, contributed to its fruitful work in all the presented directions - from the conceptual problems of creating artificial intelligence systems to their practical implementation.

The conference received congratulatory telegrams from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Council of Rectors of Moscow, etc.

The conference was attended by more than 180 scientists, specialists, graduate students and students representing 149 scientific and industrial organizations and universities from 49 cities of Ukraine, Russia, the Republic of Belarus, the USA, China, and Spain, 3 academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 26 doctors of sciences, 57 candidates of sciences, 18 postgraduates and students.

A wide range of theoretical and applied problems were discussed at the conference: artificial intelligence, multiprocessor computing systems with mass parallelism, parallel computing, neural network technologies, network and multi-agent technologies, intelligent robotics and technology for the development of image systems. There were 10 sections:

- conceptual problems of artificial intelligence;

- conceptual problems of creating artificial intelligence systems, intelligent and multiprocessor systems;

- mathematical software of intelligent and multiprocessor systems;

- network and multiagent technologies. Problems of information security;

- neural networks and neural network technologies;

- knowledge bases and intelligent decision-making systems;

- computerization of artificial languages;

- recognition of images and images. Digital signal processing;

- microsystem technology;

- intelligent robotic systems.

Two international scientific youth schools were held within the conference:

- "High-performance computer systems" (HPCS - 2005);

- "Neuroinformatics and systems of associative memory" (Neuro - 2005).

The program committees of the conference and scientific youth schools included well-known Ukrainian and foreign scientists, such as Academician V.M. Matrosov (Russia), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences I.A. Kalyaev, Professor V.M. Koval (Ukraine), Professor A.I. Shevchenko (Ukraine), Professor E.I. Yurevich (Russia), Professor T.M. Akinfiev (Spain), etc.

During the conference, the work of two "round tables" was organized:

- "Problems of artificial intelligence and computer technology";

- "Problems of computerization of natural languages".

There were meetings of leading scientists with young scientists.

The International Virtual Football Tournament took place. Eighteen teams from Russia, Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus took part in that sporting event. The winners:

1st place - the team of the Belarusian State Technical University (BGTU SPb);

2nd place - the team of Kyiv Polytechnic University (FFTeam3);

3rd place - the team of Moscow State University, Department of Biology (Avral).

Reports were published as articles in the International scientific and theoretical journal "Artificial Intelligence" (№ 3 '2005, № 4' 2005). The abstracts of the conference reports were previously published in three volumes of the Conference Proceedings (Taganrog, Russia).

The next, 7th International Conference "Artificial Intelligence - 2006. Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems - 2006" is scheduled for September 2006 in the village of Katsiveli, Crimea.
