Scientific Seminar in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: "Implementation of Scientific Research in Practical Medicine"

The Committee on National Health, Medical Care, and Health Insurance of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine organized a scientific seminar featuring participation from Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Subcommittee on Prevention and Control of Oncological Diseases, oncologist Valerii Zub, scientists from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, oncologists, and others.

The seminar was held offline in the premises of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. MP Valerii Zub informed attendees about specific achievements in Ukrainian medicine and the integration of modern artificial intelligence methods into the practice of treating oncological diseases.

The Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems (IAIP) of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Professor Anatolii Shevchenko, and the Head of the Department of Fundamental Disciplines and Informatics at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (NHU), Professor Ozar Mintser, highlighted in their presentations the importance of further scientific research in the field of oncology.

The seminar also featured the participation of young scientists from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems, including Scientific Secretary Mykyta Klymenko and Roman Malyi.

 

The Head of the Subcommittee on Prevention and Control of Oncological Diseases, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Valerii Zub, was presented with a version of the AI-powered chatbot "Oncologist" developed by the Institute.

 

The seminar concluded with the ceremonial presentation of the AI-powered chatbot "Oncologist," developed by the Institute, to Valerii Zub, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Subcommittee on Prevention and Control of Oncological Diseases, for implementation in Ukraine's medical institutions. Simultaneously, an inclusive right to use the Institute's intellectual property was granted as a contribution by scientists to safeguarding the health of the Ukrainian nation, an effort of particular importance during the ongoing full-scale war.
