Round table "Creation of controlled automatic systems and systems with elements of artificial intelligence for the needs of state defense"

On July 28 of this year, the National Cyber ​​Security Coordination Center of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine held a round table on the topic "Creation of controlled automatic systems and systems with elements of artificial intelligence for the needs of state defense."

Presentations were made by: director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, corr. member Anatoliy Ivanovych Shevchenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, deputy director for scientific work of the Institute of Problems of Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Klymenko Mykyta Serhiyovych, scientific secretary of the Institute, Ph.D. Maksym Olehovych Vakulenko and employees of the Central Research Institute of Armaments and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In their reports, the participants of the Round Table emphasized the timeliness of this event, defining the problems and tasks facing the institute's team regarding the implementation of artificial intelligence systems in the sphere of security and defense of the State.

During the discussion of the reports, the constructive activity of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems in uniting more than 50 leading experts of Ukraine with their teams and scientific schools of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which participated in the creation of the project of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Ukraine, was noted. The Strategy defines the creation of a competitive and knowledge-intensive product on the world market, namely the basic model of a new generation computer with artificial intelligence. In the reports of the authors of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence project in Ukraine, it is stated that they have already taken into account most of the comments of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, business structures, etc.

Also, in their reports, scientists of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine presented a number of developments ready for implementation in the State defense system, namely multi-functional robots, in particular for searching for explosive devices under water; long-term firing point with automatic recognition of the destruction of ground targets, Helmet - anti-stress and others.
