Shevchenko), the Research Institute of Multiprocessor Computing Systems of Taganrog State University of Radioengineering of the Ministry of Education of Russia (director I.A. Kalyaev), and the Southern Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. With the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), the Department of Informatics of NAS and the MES of Ukraine.

The work of the conference took the form of plenary, sectional meetings and discussions. Simultaneously with the conference a few events were held: Scientific Youth Schools "High-Performance Computing Systems" (HPCS- 2004) and "Microsystem Technology" (MST - 2004), as well as the International Virtual Football Tournament "Autumn in Katsivel".

The conference was attended by more than 180 scientists, graduate students and students representing 118 scientific and industrial organizations and universities from 44 cities of Russia, Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, Germany, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, including 5 academicians and corresponding members of the RAS and NAS, 34 Doctors of Sciences, 58 Candidates of Sciences, 50 postgraduate students and students.

At the plenary and sectional sessions of the conference were presented 152 reports, numerous problems and issues of the state and prospects of modern development of computer technologies were raised. The conference included 10 sections:

1) conceptual problems of creating artificial intelligence systems;

2) intelligent and multiprocessor systems;

3) mathematical software of intelligent and multiprocessor systems;

4) network and multi-agent technologies. Information security problems;

5) neural networks and neural network technologies;

6) knowledge bases and intelligent decision-making systems;

7) computerization of natural languages;

8) recognition of images and images. Digital signal processing;

9) microsystem technology;

10) intelligent robotic systems.

A wide range of theoretical and applied problems of artificial intelligence, multiprocessor computing systems with mass parallelism, parallel computing, neurocomputers and neuroprocessor networks, new generations of robots and robotic systems were discussed at plenary and section meetings. Participants of the conference were active. They expressed a great interest to the event.

The conference received congratulatory letters from Academician-Secretary of the NAS of Ukraine (Department of Informatics), Academician of the NAS of Ukraine I.V. Sergienko, and the Union of Rectors of Moscow, Professor O.S. Sigova.

Proceedings and other materials of the conference were previously published in Russia as the collection of conference materials (in two volumes).  In Ukraine, proceedings of the conferencing were published as special issues of the International Journal "Artificial Intelligence" (№ 3`2004, 4`2004).

The following was stated:

  1. Research and developments in the field of artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and computer technology are extremely relevant largely. It determines the main direction of modern world scientific progress.
  2. The extensive experience and a significant amount of theoretical and applied research in the field of intelligent systems and computer technology have accumulated In the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus. There are highly qualified scientists and specialists. That will allow the creation of modern technical means of massively parallel computer structures and robotics, which correspond to the level of available foreign analogues, and even surpass them in number of parameters.
  3. Research in the field of creating new generations of intellectualized information systems and intelligent robotics with extensive technical and physical capabilities is developing intensively. A large number of developments is applied in practice.
  4. The particular attention should be paid to the most intensive research and development in the field of computational linguistics and computer technology related to natural language communication between human and machine within the International project "Computerization of Natural Languages".

DECISIVE PART

The conference participants decided:

  1. To continue research in the field of information computer technology and technologies of intellectual level, to exchange the obtained experience on results of researches and practical implementation of developments in the field of information technologies at conferences, symposia, seminars. It is reasonable to continue the improvement of terminological and conceptual apparatus of research related to the creation of artificial intelligence systems.
  2. Program and organizational committees of the 6th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems - 2005. Artificial Intelligence - 2005" should attract the participation of enterprises and companies working in the field of information technology;
  3. Include in the list of requirements for the content of the work submitted to the conference assessment of the possible application of the results, commercial prospects and the necessary investment. To promote the most promising products of basic research and results on the market, recommend their presentation at the exhibition "Robotics", held annually in Moscow (All-Russian Exhibition Center, November 2004).
  4. Based on a competition for the best reports submitted to the conference by young scientists and graduate students, the program committee decided to award a cash prize of 600 rubles each of the following conference participants:

    M.V. Dibrivny (DONETSK) Matrix of semantic relations;

    E.A. Yankevich (MOSCOW) Principles of construction of computer system switches with automatic resource allocation;

    N.B. Paklin, M.A. Senilov, V.A. Tenenev (IZHEVSK) Intelligent models based on a hybrid genetic algorithm with gradient learning of the leader;

    V.L. Yerukhimov, I.V. Chikalov (NIZHNY NOVGOROD) On the use of machine learning methods in the detection of anomalies;
