OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL MULTI0CONFERENCE

«PROBLEMS OF INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES. MECHATRONICS»

AND THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE

«ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS‑2007»

24 - 29 SEPTEMBER 2007
the village of Divnomorskoe, Gelendzhik District, Krasnodar Krai (Russia).

International Scientific and Technical Multiconference “Problems of Information and Computer Technologies. Mechatronics” (ICTM ‑ 2007) and the 8th International Scientific and Technical Conference “Artificial Intelligence ‑ 2007. Intelligent Systems" (AI-2007) were held from 24 to 29 September 2007. The conferences were organized on the initiative of the Research Institute of Multiprocessor Computing Systems named after Academician A.V. Kalyaev (Southern Federal University), Southern Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (named after A.A. Blagonravov), the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Belarusian State University with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Southern Territorial Group of the IFAC National Committee, publishing houses of journals "Computer and Information Technologies" and "Mechatronics, Automation, Control", Department of Informatics of the NAS of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The ICTM-2007 Multi-conference consisted of two local conferences: the International Scientific and Technical Conference “Multiprocessor Computing and Control Systems” (MCCS‑ 2007) and the Fourth International Scientific and Technical Conference “Mechatronics, Automation, Control” (MAC ‑ 2007).

The work of all conferences took  the form of plenary and sectional meetings, discussions and a round table "Current state and prospects of development of the considered scientific and technical directions". Simultaneously with the conferences, Scientific Youth Schools “High-Performance Computing Systems” (HPCS ‑ 2007), “Neurocomputers and Their Applications” (Neuro ‑ 2007), “Systems and Means of Artificial Intelligence” (SMAI ‑ 2007) were held. The International Virtual Football Tournament was also conduced.

The conferences were attended by more than 230 scientists, specialists, graduate students and students representing 99 scientific, industrial organizations, and universities from 34 cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries, including 9 academicians and corresponding members of RAS, NASU, 47 Doctors of Sciences, 58 Candidates of Sciences, 27 postgraduate students and students.

147 reports were presented at the plenary and sectional sessions of the conferences, numerous problems and issues of the state and prospects of modern development of information and computer technologies and artificial intelligence systems were raised. The conferences were held concerning the following scientific and technical areas:

        MCCS‑ 2007:

  1. Architecture and hardware of multiprocessor computing and control systems.
  2. Algorithm and multiprocessor computing and control systems software.
  3. Neural networks and fuzzy systems.
  4. Digital signal and image processing, data analysis and pattern recognition systems.

        MAC ‑ 2007:

  1. Management and information support of mechatronic and robotic systems.
  2. Design and modeling of mechatronic modules and systems.
  3. Application of mechatronic and robotic systems.

        AI-2007:

  1. Conceptual problems and theoretical bases of artificial intelligence systems.
  2. Intelligent systems for working with natural languages.
  3. Decision making, planning and management systems. Information security of IS.
  4. Modeling objects and processes.

A wide range of theoretical and applied problems of multiprocessor computing and control systems with mass parallelism, parallel computing, neural network technologies, network and multiagent technologies, digital signal and image processing systems, data analysis and recognition were discussed at the plenary and section meetings. control, information support and application of mechatronic and robotic systems; theoretical bases of artificial intelligence systems, decision-making systems, planning and management of intelligent systems for work with natural languages. The conferences were held with high activity and great interest of the participants.

Papers and other conference proceedings were previously published in Russia as the collection of materials of the multi-conference (in three volumes, with a total volume of 67 pages) and in Ukraine in № 3 and № 4 of the journal "Artificial intelligence", and as the collection of Abstracts of the First International Scientific Youth School "Systems and Means of Artificial Intelligence", as well as in the collection of Proceedings of the Eighth International Scientific and Practical Conference "Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent Systems".

       The following was noted:

  1. Research and development in the field of advanced information and computer technologies and artificial intelligence systems are extremely relevant. It determines the main directions of development of modern world scientific progress.
  2. Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and Belarus have accumulated a great deal of experience and conducted a significant amount of theoretical and applied research in the field of super-efficient computing and control systems, neural network technologies, digital signal and image processing, pattern recognition; creation of robotic systems, their control, information support and application; creation of artificial intelligence systems for various purposes. At the same time, there is a large number of top-notch scientists and specialists with great scientific potential, which makes it possible to create multiprocessor computing and control systems, robotic systems, artificial intelligence systems corresponding to the modern level of advanced Western developments, and even surpassing them in a number of parameters.
  3. Holding a joint conference on these areas allowed to significantly increase the level of scientific results, led to the generation of new ideas and the creation of new joint projects. The experience of an interdisciplinary approach during a joint conference has shown the high effectiveness of such scientific activities.

DECISIVE PART:

The conference participants decided:

  1. To continue research in the field of high-performance computing and control systems, robotic systems, artificial intelligence systems, intelligent systems and regularly exchange the acquired experience at joint conferences, symposia, seminars.
  2. The program and organizing committees of the next international scientific and technical conferences should continue to involve enterprises and companies working in the field of information and computer technologies and artificial intelligence systems, to invite them to participate in conferences.
  3. On the basis of the competition for the best reports presented at the conference and the Scientific Youth School SYS - 2006 by young scientists and graduate students, to award a cash prize of 1000.0 rubles to each of the following speakers:

- Antipov Oleg Alexandrovich (Moscow);
