Scientific cooperation with the Kirovograd Flight Academy

Cooperation between the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Problems and Kirovograd Flight Academy started last year. Partnerships between our institutions continue to develop.

Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Doctor of Theology, Professor Anatoliy Shevchenko and Head of the Academy, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Serhiy Mykolayovych Nedilko signed a Cooperation Agreement between institutions. And immediately began to create joint projects.

On March 24, 2017, Anatoliy Shevchenko took part in a round table seminar held at the Kirovograd Flight Academy, where the prospects of cooperation in the field of research related to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were discussed. Anatoliy Ivanovych drew the attention of the audience to the current areas of application of UAVs and told about the main demands of society that can be met with their help.

Serhiy Nedilko, head of the academy, doctor of technical sciences, professor, suggested considering the possibility of implementing joint projects and stressed that UAVs will soon enter all spheres of our lives and we should already think about training qualified operators.

Dmytro Mykolayovych Obidin, Deputy Head of the Academy for Educational and Scientific Work, analyzed the potential areas of cooperation and resource opportunities of the Academy in their implementation.

Vitaliy Mykolayovych Nedilko, Head of the Department of Information Technologies, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, spoke about how innovative technologies can facilitate and accelerate the work of finding and rescuing people. In particular, about the possibilities of using the UAV group in the activities of rescue volunteer units.

Yuriy Hryhorovych Kovalyov, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Mathematical Disciplines, told more about the Center for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

Pilot-instructor Oleksandr Dmytrovych Konovalov spoke about the whole complex of unresolved issues related to certification and rules of safe use of UAVs.

During the discussion of the set tasks, the participants of the seminar identified the priority areas of work and agreed on further steps of cooperation.
