"Artificial Intelligence - 2006. Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems - 2006"



The 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent and multiprocessor systems-2006" took place  from 24 to 29 September in the village of Katsiveli (Crimea). The conference became a tradition. More than 200 scientists, specialists, graduate students, students representing 110 scientific and industrial organizations and universities from 52 cities in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain, Poland and other countries went to the Black Sea coast. It is important to note that 2 academicians and 5 corresponding members of the RAS, NASU, NASB, 22 Doctors of Sciences, 33 Candidates of Sciences, 38 graduate students and students were the participants of the conference. 

The conference took the form of plenary and sectional meetings, discussions. Numerous problems and issues of the state and prospects of modern development of computer technologies were raised, a wide range of theoretical and applied problems of artificial intelligence systems, process modeling, multiprocessor computer systems with mass parallelism, parallel computing, neural network, network and multi-agent technologies, intelligent information control and robotics systems, intelligent training systems, digital signal and image processing systems, data analysis and pattern recognition, information technologies for working with natural languages , security and information protection systems, 139 reports were presented.

There were 7 sections:

- theory and practice of creating intelligent systems;

- algorithmic software (IMS);

- hardware and software (IMS);

- neural network technologies;

- information technologies for work with natural languages;

- intelligent systems for digital signal and image processing, data analysis and pattern recognition;

- intelligent information control and robotic systems.

Simultaneously with the conference, Scientific Youth Schools "High-Performance Computing Systems" (HPCS-2006) and "Neuroinformatics and Associative Memory Systems" (Neuro-2006), as well as the International Virtual Football Tournament were held. After the conference "Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems-2006", which was organized on the initiative of the Research Institute of Multiprocessor Computing Systems of Taganrog State Radio Engineering University of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Southern Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Optical and Neural Technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of Ukraine, Belarusian State University with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), Department of Informatics of NAS of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the winners of competitions and tournaments were awarded.  

Proceedings and other materials of the conference were previously published in Russia as the collection of conference materials (in three volumes, 63 pages) and in Ukraine in special issues of the international journal "Artificial Intelligence" (3`2006, 4`2006 ). VIII International Scientific and Technical Conference "Intelligent and Multiprocessor Systems. Artificial Intelligence-2007 "is planned to be held in September 2007 in the village of Divnomorskoe, Gelendzhik, Russia.

The 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent and multiprocessor systems-2006" took place  from 24 to 29 September in the village of Katsiveli (Crimea). The conference was organized on the initiative of the Research Institute of Multiprocessor Computing Systems of Taganrog State Radio Engineering University of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Southern Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Optical and Neural Technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of Ukraine, Belarusian State University with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), Department of Informatics of NAS of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The conference took the form of plenary and sectional meetings, discussions. Simultaneously with the conference, Scientific Youth Schools "High-Performance Computing Systems" (HPCS-2006) and "Neuroinformatics and Associative Memory Systems" (Neuro-2006), as well as the International Virtual Football Tournament were held.

At the plenary and sectional sessions of the conference 139 reports were presented. Numerous problems and issues of the state and prospects of modern development of computer technologies were raised.

- neural network technologies;

- information technologies for work with natural languages;

- intelligent systems for digital signal and image processing, data analysis and pattern recognition;

- intelligent information control and robotic systems.

The plenary and section meetings discussed a wide range of theoretical and applied problems of artificial intelligence systems, process modeling, multiprocessor computing systems with mass parallelism, parallel computing, neural network, network and multi-agent technologies, intelligent systems, information management and control systems. digital signal and image processing, data analysis and pattern recognition, information technology for working with natural languages ​​and speech, security systems and information security.

The conference aroused interest of the participants. They were participating actively.

Proceedings and other materials of the conference were previously published in Russia as the collection of conference materials (in three volumes, a total of 63 pages) and in Ukraine in special issues of the International journal "Artificial Intelligence" (№3`2006, №4`2006 ).

The following was stated:

1. Research and development in the field of advanced information and computer technologies and artificial intelligence systems are extremely relevant. It determines the main directions of development of modern world scientific progress.


2. Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and Belarus have accumulated a great deal of experience and conducted a significant amount of theoretical and applied research in the field of super-efficient computing and control systems, neural network technologies, digital signal and image processing, pattern recognition; creation of robotic systems, their control, information support and application; creation of artificial intelligence systems for various purposes. At the same time, there is a large number of top-notch scientists and specialists with great scientific potential, which makes it possible to create multiprocessor computing and control systems, robotic systems, artificial intelligence systems corresponding to the modern level of advanced Western developments, and even surpassing them in a number of parameters.

3. Research in the field of creating new generations of intelligent information and control systems is developing rapidly. A lot of developments have been applied in practice.

 

DECISIVE PART

The conference participants decided:

1. To continue research in the field of high-performance computing and control systems, robotic systems, artificial intelligence systems, intelligent systems and regularly exchange the acquired experience at joint conferences, symposia, seminars.


2. The program and organizing committees of the next international scientific and technical conferences should continue to involve enterprises and companies working in the field of information and computer technologies and artificial intelligence systems, to invite them to participate in conferences.

3. On the basis of the competition for the best reports presented at the conference and the Scientific Youth School SYS - 2006 by young scientists and graduate students, to award a cash prize of 1000.0 rubles to each of the following speakers:

5. To introduce a "round table" on innovation in the field of high technology in the program of the 8th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Intelligent and multiprocessor systems. Artificial Intelligence-2007".

7. To hold the VIII International Scientific and Technical Conference "Intelligent and multiprocessor systems. Artificial Intelligence-2007" in September 2007 in the village of Divnomorskoe, Gelendzhik, Russia.

8.  To note the high scientific, methodological and organizational level of the conference AI-IMS’2006.
